Upholstery

Upholstery

This is my first foray into the land of upholstery. I bought this bench at an unfinished furniture store and painted it light green. Then I added a layer of foam and a layer of decking. Then it sat like that for a few months, much to the delight of the kitties. I finally finished […]

Sailboats

Sailboats

This quilt came about because I love this pattern and some Michael Miller reps came to our April DMQG meeting and presented a challenge: Make something, anything quilted, out of these lovely Cotton Couture fat eights. I sewed the top at Quilt Camp in May, with no real idea what size it would be, just enough […]

New Mexico

New Mexico

This has been a long time coming, but I finally finished the top at Quilt Camp (Sunset, TX, May 16-18). This quilt features fabric from Timeless Treasures Tonga Batiks collection. I’ll update with new photos once it is quilted and bound.

Retro Flowers

Retro Flowers

I made this sweet little quilt for Michael’s Aunt Renate’s 80th birthday, May 15, 2014. Jose is traveling to Hamburg for the party and he will hand-deliver it. This is small, 24″x24″. The design is based on “Retro Flowers” from SometimesCrafter. The background is Bella Solids Butter, and the field fabric is from Modern Quilt Studio‘s Passports line.

It was supposed to have lots of garland (satin stitch) and star-shaped buttons as tree toppers and crystals glued on. I like this more minimal look. I quilted this all by myself from […]

The Egg Quilt

The Egg Quilt

My sister Beth said she was repainting the guest room and sent me a paint sample and said, “Just make it go with this.” This is the largest quilt I’ve made. I had to move to the dining room table to have enough space to spread out. I did the initial egg cutting and fusing on […]

Birds in Tree

Birds in Tree

I made this as a wedding gift for Alison Smith and Jim Wild. I cut out the tree from whole cloth and added the leaves and birds and text. Free motion quilting on the close inside edge of all the fabric secured it to the background. And then I used the same staple gun and […]
