Sunshine

Sunshine

This is Phoebe’s Christmas present. Kim Schlossberg of Schlossberg Designs (and Phoebe’s former Sunday school teacher)  very kindly created the graphic for me. I traced the pattern (backwards) onto Wonder Under and then ironed it onto the backside of the fabric, cut it out, and ironed it onto the field. I used free motion quilting […]

America II

America II

This is the last old-school style patchwork quilt I will ever make. This was for the annual silent auction for the Texas Democratic Women of Collin County. I made the decision about it being the last one about half way through. I cut some corners, which you can tell if you compare it to the […]

Spooky Quilt

Spooky Quilt

This is not very spooky, but Ingrid looks great on it! This is a center panel with some borders added. First time trying mitered corners.

Bears

Bears

Made for Coach Bev Sigler’s grandson in exchange for 5 training sessions. I designed the whole thing based on some artwork that is in the baby’s room. Fabric is Moda Marbles. Backing is blue raised-dot minky. I see now, after it’s all done, that light blue for the “m” of Miles was the wrong choice.

Goodnight Moon

Goodnight Moon

This is not what I would call a beautiful quilt, but it is 100% true to the look of the book, which I never realized was quite so garish. I made this for My Very Own Book’s silent auction. I didn’t know until afterward that the diamonds were supposed to be challenging. I just followed […]

Dr Suess

Dr Suess

I made this quilt for my friend Kelley Van Auken, for her nephew, Carter. (Perhaps the red and white stripes was not the best choice for the letters.) This is just the quilt top; I don’t seem to have a finished picture of it.

New Mexico

New Mexico

One day, I will finish this. It’s a kit I bought several years ago. They call it Mango Salsa, but I call it New Mexico.

Pompoms

Pompoms

At a silent auction (where one of my quilts was up for grabs), I won a photo session from Teresa Berg Photography. I took Phoebe in for a photo shoot. Teresa does a lot of photography of dogs, and she asked if Phoebe would be willing to do a shoot with a small dog for […]

Christmas Cross Stitch

Christmas Cross Stitch

My mother-in-law Joanna Winchester made these little 12 Days of Christmas cross stitch blocks back in the 80s. I put them into a quilt. (This isn’t a picture of the final quilt, I still need to take one.)
