Auction quilts

baby quilt

baby quilt

I don’t have a finished picture, but here’s a pre-quilting pic. I made this quit for an auction for a legal aid group in North Texas. I’ve made this pattern many times. This was made from fabric I found in the closet.

abc on Point

abc on Point

Finally finished this quilt after a 9 year break. It’s not exactly my style of quilt now. But I do still love the fabrics and colors. It’s a Riley Blake print. I’d make this quilt again, but I’d use different fabrics.

Blue Wave

Blue Wave

I created this quilt for the AIDS Services of Dallas No-Tie silent auction fundraiser. The pattern is from Modern Quilt Studio, specifically in their Modern Quilts Illustrated #3, “Making Waves.” The white is RJR Optic White. The blues and greens are a selection of batiks, some of which I had on hand and some of […]

Sails/Icebergs

Sails

Blue/green sails. Or maybe turn it the other way and call it Icebergs.   This was inspired by a quilt Bette Pat Graves worked on at Quilt Camp in the Spring. I used a range of Kona solids on it, something close to the colors at the left. I say “close to” because I might have […]

Flowers

Flowers

I love this block! Joanne Kamper used it for her Simply Solids Bee block with DMQG this year. I like the structure of the geometric shapes of the blocks themselves and that contrast with the botanical-ness and curves of the flowers. The absence of sashing accentuates this contrast. The applique flowers were fused down and […]

America II

America II

This is the last old-school style patchwork quilt I will ever make. This was for the annual silent auction for the Texas Democratic Women of Collin County. I made the decision about it being the last one about half way through. I cut some corners, which you can tell if you compare it to the […]

Goodnight Moon

Goodnight Moon

This is not what I would call a beautiful quilt, but it is 100% true to the look of the book, which I never realized was quite so garish. I made this for My Very Own Book’s silent auction. I didn’t know until afterward that the diamonds were supposed to be challenging. I just followed […]

Pompoms

Pompoms

At a silent auction (where one of my quilts was up for grabs), I won a photo session from Teresa Berg Photography. I took Phoebe in for a photo shoot. Teresa does a lot of photography of dogs, and she asked if Phoebe would be willing to do a shoot with a small dog for […]

Pinwheels and Prairie Points

Pinwheels and Prairie Points

I fell in love with the fabric, mostly the colors. I made this quilt twice: once for a baby shower gift for Laura Pattee and Gabriel Garza, and once for the silent auction for the PTA at Phoebe’s school. These are my first prairie points.
