I love this block! Joanne Kamper used it for her Simply Solids Bee block with DMQG this year. I like the structure of the geometric shapes of the blocks themselves and that contrast with the botanical-ness and curves of the flowers. The absence of sashing accentuates this contrast. The applique flowers were fused down and then sewn raw-edge using a blanket stitch.

I had these purples, reds, and pinks on hand. The background is Bella Solids Butter. The yellow is the same as I used on the back of New Mexico, Bella Solids plain old Yellow. This is my first time trying piping. It was not too hard but I’m not sure I’ll do it again soon. The green piping is Bella Solids Summer House Lime. The backing fabric is Moda Essential Dots in yellow.
