Michael asked if I could make him something to alleviate the weird feeling of bald head on leather. I created this using some scrap fabrics. It’s an antimacassar! I looked this word up. Apparently Macassar oil is something men used to put in their hair. So the “antimacassar” is something easily washed you put on your furniture so it’s not stained with the Macassar oil. It was while doing the quilting on this that I got frustrated and finally did some research and discovered that you can pay other people to quilt for you! This was a good day! I love the piecing but making the quilt sandwich (and getting it wrinkle free) and doing the actual quilting is not something I’m good at. I slogged through and finished this one (a fan pattern), but most of my larger quilts after this one have been quilted by a professional.
