This quilt is what I made when challenged by the Modern Quilt Guild with a handful of Riley Blake prints and one solid gray. The prints were not what I would call pretty. Some people made amazing things out of them, but I just couldn’t see it. The rules were to use at least one of the provided fabrics, so I did: the one solid gray. This is my interpretation of “Orbit” by Jennifer Sampou, from the book We Love Color. It’s fairly small, about 36″ wide. The other non-gray solids I picked up at Quilt Asylum. I learned simple ad-hoc curves (on the background).
