After the great success of the Denim Star rag quilt, I decided I was an expert. I made this cat quilt for Phoebe for Christmas. I gathered the pink (her then-favorite color) at the Plano Quilt Show, and the back is a sort of half-ribbed pink chenille. Again, I used osnaburg instead of batting, this time in pink. The pattern is Simplicity #4993, which is out of print now. Phoebe named it Pinky Pie. The cat’s left front paw is a piece of Phoebe’s art work I printed using Spoonflower.

With scraps, I created fabric with scrappy piecing and make a dress for Phoebe. I had no idea what I was doing, but I know about scrappy piecing now.
