Leaves

Leaves

Michael asked if I could make him something to alleviate the weird feeling of bald head on leather. I created this using some scrap fabrics. It’s an antimacassar! I looked this word up. Apparently Macassar oil is something men used to put in their hair. So the “antimacassar” is something easily washed you put on […]

ABC

ABC

Made for the First Dallas UU Church silent auction. Sold for $85. Phoebe and I tea-dyed this to get the aged look to go with the reproduction 1930s prints. This is the same pattern my cousin Andi Carvalho used for a baby quilt she made when Phoebe was born. I loved the quilt and many […]

New Sewing Machine!

New Sewing Machine!

Paper Piecing

Paper Piecing

Pinky Pie

Pinky Pie

After the great success of the Denim Star rag quilt, I decided I was an expert. I made this cat quilt for Phoebe for Christmas. I gathered the pink (her then-favorite color) at the Plano Quilt Show, and the back is a sort of half-ribbed pink chenille. Again, I used osnaburg instead of batting, this […]
